agus saol ceantar Bhaile Locha Riach. Beidh meascán láithreoirí again agus muid ag iarraidh daoine
úra a mhealladh chun páirt a ghlacadh sa chlár go rialta. Tá Gaeilge Locha Riach ag súil go
dtabharfaidh an seó ardán do phobal Ghaeilge an bhaile – ár gceol, ár nguth, ár mbaile!

Join us early every Saturday morning between 9 and 10am for a mix of music, conversation, chat and fun as we kick off the weekend here on Loughrea Community Radio. Each week we have a wide selection of topics with an eclectic choice of music from the traditional to the modern. We also feature regular items linked to events involving the Irish language community in Loughrea. Gaeilge Locha Riach's vision is to restore Irish as a living language that is central to the culture and the life of the Loughrea area. We have a mix of presenters and are always looking for others who may wish to take part in the program on a regular basis. Gaeilge Locha Riach hopes the show will provide a platform for the Irish language community of the town - our music, our voice, our home! Is as Baile Locha Riach ó dhúchas é Conor Ó Fathaigh. Chaith sé cúpla tréimhse thar lear agus b’ansin a fuair sé a shuim sa Ghaeilge arís. Bhí suim aige sa cheol i gcónaí agus sheinn sé le roinnt mhaith bannaí ceoil áitiúla thar na blianta. Oibríonn sé mar mhúinteoir bunscoile sa lá atá inniu ann agus tá sé ag cur faoi arís i mBaile Locha Riach lena chlann ón 2018.

Conor is a native of Loughrea. Having spent a couple of spells abroad, he gained a new-found appreciation for the Irish language and has been immersing himself in the language ever since. He has always had an interest in music and has played with many local bands over the years. Conor is back living in Loughrea with his family since 2018 and now works as a primary school teacher.

Brian Ó Meacháin
Is as Co. Uíbh Fháilí é Brian ó dhúchas ach tá cónaí air i mBaile Locha Riach ó 2005 i leith. Feictear go minic é ar an ardán go háitiúil le Cumann Córúil agus Drámata Naomh Breandáin agus go háirithe leis na Seumas O’Kelly Players. Is múinteoir é Brian i nGaelscoil Riabhach agus feiceann sé an tábhacht a bhaineann le spéis a chur i réimse leathan ábhair: daoine, teangacha, cultúir, spórt, na healaíona, ceol, agus gan dearmad a dhéanamh ar phíosa craic a bheith agat ar an mbealach!

Brian is a native of Co. Offaly but has been living in Loughrea since 2005. Since that time he has appeared regularly on local stages with St. Brendan’s Choral and Dramatic Society and especially with the Seumas O’Kelly Players. A teacher in the local Gaelscoil, Brian firmly believes in keeping an open mind and taking an interest in a wide range of subjects: people, languages, cultures, sport, the arts, music, and remember to have fun along the way!
Pól Mag Lionáin bio

Pól Mag Lionáin is a member of Gaeilge Locha Riach and has worked for the last 25 years in promoting and teaching the Irish language in the Loughrea area. Through his involvement in Gaeilge Locha Riach the Irish language has been promoted in various ways; through schools, summer camps, Gaeltacht scholarships and by the committee’s work ensuring the visibility of the Irish language in daily life in Loughrea. Pól enjoys sport and outdoor activities and has a deep interest in local history heritage and environmental issues in the greater Loughrea area. Pól is employed as a principal teacher in Gaelscoil Riabhach, Loughrea’s Irish-medium primary school.
